The journey from Poroy to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
This station is about 10.8 kilometers (6.7 miles) away from Cusco, and Cusco Transport offers an exclusive transfer service to the station. They also have the option of a “Cusco transfer with stops” that allows for photo stops along the way to Poroy.
The Ollantaytambo Train Station
This train station is the busiest on the way to Machu Picchu, serving as a meeting point for all train services operated by Perurail and Incarail companies. Inside, you will find café and restaurant options to enjoy while waiting for your train, as well as restroom facilities and panoramic views of the beautiful natural surroundings. You can exclusively take the Vistadome train from this train station, located on Cascaparo Avenue, very close to the historic city center. In fact, it is situated right in front of the San Pedro Market, which you can also visit with us. This train station operates year-round, only closing in case of road landslides.
The operating hours are from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and the journey from San Pedro station to Aguas Calientes station (Machu Picchu) takes approximately 4 hours.
