VINICUNCA RAINBOW MOUNTAIN TOUR

OVERVIEW:

Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Tour: A day full of adventure visiting Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain on the outskirts of Cusco, Peru. The mountain’s colors were formed by sedimentary mineral layers in the mountain that have been exposed to erosion. On this tour, you will see the local people with their horses and the snow-peaked Ausangate Mountain looming down on Vinicunca.

ITINERARY

5:30 am Depart your hotel in Cusco and drive to Cusipata, in private transport, for about 2 hours to enjoy the Rainbow Mountain Tour. Then another 1.30 hours to Llonto where you will begin the Vinicunca rainbow mountain hike. Start the hike of about 1.30 hours to Vinicunca (5040mt.) the colorful rainbow mountain. The first stretch is not difficult but if you feel the altitude then you are welcome to hire a horse. Along the way, we will see the local farmers and many llamas and alpacas. Then the altitude will test you on the first climb for about 15 minutes until arriving at a platform bringing you up close to the rainbow mountain, where you can have a coca tea before the final climb for another 15 minutes. After the final climb, you can catch amazing views of Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain and the gorgeous snow-covered Ausangate (6372m). Retrace your route to our private transportation and return to Cusco.
