The Colca Canyon is known for its immense depth, impressive mountain scenery, and traditional Andean communities. A two-day tour allows you to experience the region at a more relaxed pace, with an overnight stay in Chivay before continuing your journey through the valley the following morning.

Traveling from Arequipa to Colca Canyon, you will experience the changing landscapes of the southern Peruvian Andes, from high-altitude plains and volcanic scenery to the valleys surrounding Chivay. The region is also home to native wildlife such as vicuñas and offers opportunities to discover the traditions and daily life of local communities.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arequipa to Colca Valley – Chivay

Your Colca Canyon 2 Day Tour begins in Arequipa in the morning. We travel toward the Colca Valley, passing through the spectacular highland landscapes of southern Peru.

Along the route, we visit the Pampa Cañahuas area of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Here, you may see vicuñas in their natural habitat while enjoying views of the surrounding mountains and volcanoes.

We continue toward the Colca region, taking in the impressive Andean scenery before reaching Chivay, the main town of the Colca Valley. Upon arrival, you will have lunch before going to your hotel.

In the afternoon, you can choose to rest at your hotel or, at an additional cost, visit the La Calera hot springs and enjoy the thermal waters surrounded by the mountains of the Colca Valley.

Day 2: Cruz del Condor – Colca Canyon – Arequipa

We start early and travel toward Cruz del Condor, one of the most famous viewpoints in the Colca Valley. From here, you can admire the impressive depth of the Colca Canyon and, depending on weather and local conditions, observe majestic Andean condors flying above the canyon.

After enjoying the scenery and taking photographs, we continue through the Colca Valley, visiting traditional villages and viewpoints along the route. These communities preserve local traditions, and in some places, residents can still be seen wearing traditional Andean clothing.

We return to Chivay for lunch before beginning the journey back to Arequipa, completing our Colca Canyon 2 Day Tour from Arequipa. Along the way, continue enjoying the spectacular landscapes of the Colca Valley and the high Andes.
