ITINERARY

DAY 1

Welcome to Cusco – City

Arrive at the Cusco airport and our staff will greet you with a smile and private transfer to your hotel. Relax and have lunch
before commensing the excitement in Cusco.  Stroll the ancient city of Cusco with your guide, visiting the Plaza de Armas (main square), and tour the Cathedral with its stunning altars, wooden carvings, and brilliant art pieces. Walk to the Qoricancha, the Golden Sun Temple, once a favorite of the Incas. Afterward, delve into the local lifestyle with a visit of the San Pedro Market, where you will see many exotic fruits and more. 

Take a scenic drive above Cusco, for a tour of the impresive Sacsayhauman, with its enormous stone structures. Move on to Qenko, a mysterious place that was used by the Incas to perform mumification and rituals.  Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure shopping or visiting museums.

DAY 2

Sacred Valley of the Incas – Train Ride to Aguas Calientes

Depart Cusco in the morning with your professional guide driving through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, admiring the surrounding Andes Mountains in the lush valley.  Our first visit takes to the Awanacancha Center to get acquainted with the camelids of Peru. Explore the Inca ruins of Pisac by walking around the archeological site, sightseeing the Sun Temple, water channels, and the stunning terraces that surround the site. Later, we will drive down to the village of Pisac to stroll through the colorful handicraft market where you can pick up some souvenirs. We will take a scenic drive through the Vilcanota River to the town of Urubamba to have a delicious lunch. 

Moving forward to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo we will come upon the grand archeological site with huge terraces that face town. Next take a pleasurable stroll around the Inca village to admire the well preserved Inca design.  Afterwards, a picturesque train ride to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Town) admiring the lovely landscapes and drop of elevation.  Enjoy a comfortable night in a hotel of your choice.

Ollantaytambo Fortress

DAY 3

Machu Picchu Tour – Train ride to Ollantaytambo or Poroy Station – Cusco

Our guide will meet you at the agreed time to walk to the nearby bus station for a ride in the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu, a 25-minute ride. Inhale, and exhale as you finally reach the breathtaking Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Wow at last! Appreciate a fantastic historical walking venture with your guide of this impressive citadel observing the guardhouse, main temples, royal tomb, sacred plaza, and more. After an incredible, unforgettable experience, return to Aguas Calientes, (Machu Picchu Town) to have lunch before boarding the train to the Ollantaytambo or Poroy station. Return to your hotel in Cusco.
